About#

Hi, I’m Dr. Charon.

I’m a Systems & Network Administrator based in Montreal, Canada. Most of my day revolves around:

  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Intune
  • VMware & Hyper-V
  • Networking & Monitoring
  • Automation & Troubleshooting

I started this blog to document problems from real production environments.

Most issues aren’t caused by a single misconfiguration. More often, they’re the result of old settings, forgotten changes, permissions, synchronization, networking, and a bit of bad timing.

Here you’ll find:

  • Real-world troubleshooting
  • PowerShell and command-line examples
  • Event logs and error messages
  • Step-by-step investigations
  • Lessons learned along the way
  • Working solutions

This isn’t meant to be a complete reference or another collection of tutorials. It’s simply a place to document what actually happened, how I approached the problem, and what eventually fixed it.

If a post helps someone avoid the same rabbit hole I went down, then this blog has done its job.

Beyond Work#

Outside of IT, I’m also passionate about music.

Some of my free time goes into:

  • Live sound
  • PA systems
  • Digital mixing consoles
  • Recording
  • Mixing & mastering

In the end, troubleshooting a network and troubleshooting an audio signal aren’t all that different.

You follow the signal until you find where it disappears.

Thanks for stopping by.
